अंग्रेज इस आकस्मिक हमले से इस कदर स्तम्भित रह गए कि पेनांग के रेडियो स्टेशन को चालू हालत में छोडऋ गए , ऋसका कैप्टन मोहनसिंंह तथा महान नेता सिख नेता प्यारा सिंंह ने भारतीय जनता को समझाने के लिए प्रयोग किया कि अंग्रेज बहुत स्वार्थी हैं तथा भारतीयों को जापान के हवाले कर स्वयं भाग गए हैं .
